Who am I?
Hi! I’m Bea Fones. I’m a 21-year old Theology student.
Born in the Czech Republic, raised and living in the UK.
My goal? To see as much of the world as possible, for as little money as possible!
In early 2015, I quit my Law with German Law degree and took off for 4 months – visiting Germany, India, Thailand and Cambodia.
Since then, travel has gone from being a dream to a priority.
In September 2015, I returned to Exeter University to study Theology – a bit of a change from Law! Now, my life is a far cry from the rigid goals I used to set myself.
Recently I’ve seen that my views of the world and myself are constantly in flux. The most important thing for me is to be happy and fulfilled, leading a life I enjoy.
And that life brings me to new places and new people, experiencing as much as I can along the way.
Why One Thousand And One Somewheres?
Well, one thousand seems an impressive number of places to see, but one more is better. Because there is always one more place to go and one more thing to see, one more person to meet. Why stop at a round number? I never know when to stop. Never mind one thousand and one nights. I plan to go for a lot longer than that.
What am I about?
Being a full-time university student doesn’t really provide much time or funding for travel. However, I’m doing my best to head off wherever and whenever I can. Be that day-trips during the term or budget travel in the holidays!
I travel primarily alone, using whatever tips and tricks I can get my hands on to keep costs low. Now I want to share that with you!
